All our electrospray sources are currently supplied with one MT320-100-3.5 stainless steel TaperTip emitter from NewObjective. These emitters are very robust and highly symmetric, which makes them ideal for spraying a wide range of non-volatile molecules. They can be cleaned by sonication in a suitable solvent and reused for hundreds of depositions. The symmetric tip means that the electrospray cone-jet is emitted very closely on-axis, requiring very little positional adjustment off the centre line for optimisation. This, combined with the conductive stainless steel construction makes them ideally suited also for our new EnviroCell electrospray source (the EnviroCell requires 3.5cm length symmetric tip emitters).
